More Amenities gives more Happiness which turns into stability which turns into more +x% production on your planet.

Resort Worlds gives every planet +15% Amenities - Amenities don't have bonus production the same as trade (exc. You are able to do that with Tomb Worlds (Resort Decision) - TheWorm granted me a planet.

The intent, which I in no way claim to be able to follow, is that once you’ve made it into a Resort World, you *ignore* it, because what happens on Space Vegas ought to stay on Space Vegas. So basically you sacrifice one planet, one that you didn’t much want to use for anything much anyway, to get a bonus to all the other planets in your empire even if there’s an infinite number of them. (I don’t know if you can do it with Tomb Worlds.) And since you specifically can’t build Districts, it won’t hurt your Empire Size/Sprawl much. You can do it with any one shitty 20 percenter size 15 or 16 or 17, even if it has modifiers that lowers Habitability to 10% or 5% or worse. “In *exchange* for *not* being able to develop this planet, I will get a nice bonus to my *other* planets.” You’re making a *bargain* with the game simulation:

A Resort World basically means that you choose to *sacrifice* a potentially valuable habitable planet, size 15+ (but hopefully not much larger).
